Mission

The knowledge and mastery of life saving techniques are of utmost importance. In any emergency the skills learnt can help save lives and prevent further complications. This is the mission of the Life Saving Society Malaysia. This national, voluntary, non profit organisation is dedicated towards providing the knowledge and skills needed to save lives from drowning and emergencies related to cardiac arrest. To date, over 80,000 people have qualified from the various programmes offered by the Society.

LSSM Objectives

  • To develop and promote awareness of water safety as a basis of teaching swimming to people, especially children
  • To train individuals in the skills and techniques of life saving
  • To promote and teach the techniques of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • To encourage the formation of Lifeguard Corps (National Lifeguard Services) for duty at swimming pools and on beaches OUR GOAL - A LIFE SAVER IN EVERY FAMILY

The Life Saving Society of Malaysia offers and conducts various programmes for people with different kinds needs, requirements and abilities.

Watermanship Awards and Water Safety Awards are awarded to people who have learnt and mastered the basic survival skills in water.
